Windsor Massachusetts is home to the Trustees of Reservations Notchview Nature Preserve. Renowned for its Nordic skiing, Notchview also entices year-round adventures in its 3,000-acre forest. Notchview offers ski and snowshoe rentals as well as guided hikes (goat hiking anyone?) and ski classes.
When in town, be sure to check out the 80-foot granite gorge at Windsor State Forest, known locally as Windsor Jambs. There is no swimming or climbing allowed at the falls, but there is a nearby swimming area in the state forest. Parking is free, the hike to the falls is short, but you may need to drive on unpaved roads to get to the parking area.
Popular activities at Windsor State Forest are hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, and snowmobiling.
