The quaint town of Otis sits on the historic Knox Trail, where the Revolutionary War’s General Henry Knox passed through in January 1776, moving cannons from Fort Ticonderoga in New York to aide forces in Boston.
Settled later than the other hilltowns, Otis saw the brief flourish of a mill industry. Today tourists can take advantage of the wonderfully preserved Victorian industrial brickwork that still remains throughout the town. Take a few days away from
it all in one of the cozy bed-and-breakfasts that sit on the banks of the calm Otis Reservoir.
