Jacob's Pillow is considered to
be "a national treasure" and "the home for dance."
An internationally recognized Festival, a School for young artists,
and an Archive for the living history of dance legacies, the Pillow
is a total environment for artists and audiences to explore creativity.
Situated on 150 acres in the exquisite
Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, the Pillow has twice earned a place
in American history first as a station on the Underground Railroad
while a family farm in the 1850s, and again in 1932, with the founding
of Jacob's Pillow by American dance pioneer Ted Shawn. The Pillow continues
its unique story, presenting great artists and engaging the public in
appreciation for the art of dance.
